Membership - Terms and Conditions
Welcome to The Artful Clayhouse! By becoming a member, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at our studio.
Scope of Membership

Activation: Membership starts on the date of first payment and remains active with monthly payments.

Personal Use: Intended for artistic work, not large-scale or production pottery.

Non-Transferable: Memberships cannot be shared or transferred.

Members must be 18 years old or older. Exceptions for younger individuals can be made with parental or guardian consent.
Six-Month Membership Plan: -
Payments can be made in instalments, but a one-month deposit is required upfront.

A one-month notice must be given before the end of the six-month period if not renewing.

If a member leaves early, the deposit is non-refundable.
Payments & Pricing

Monthly payments are due on the same date each month.

Membership cancellations take effect one month after the last payment.

Changes to membership plans can be made at the end of a payment period.

Memberships are paused during planned closures.
Suspension & Termination

Members may pause their membership for up to two months with written notice.

The studio reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships for:

Breach of the Code of Conduct

Failure to maintain a safe and respectful environment

Missed payments (membership is terminated if a payment is overdue by more than one month).

Respect Others: Treat fellow members, staff, and visitors with courtesy.

Respect the Studio: Clean all tools and workspaces after use.

Use Equipment Responsibly: Follow studio guidelines for safe usage.
Studio Access & Rules

Members may access the studio up to 18 hours per week during these hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 AM –21:00
Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00
Monday – Closed -
Studio Access During Classes: Members are always welcome to use the studio while classes are in session. During throwing classes, please note that wheel availability may be limited to 4.

Non-members are not permitted without prior approval.
Firing & Material Policies

Firing Fees: Included within reasonable use. Additional charges may apply for excessive firing.

Approved Materials: Only studio-approved glazes and clay are allowed. External materials require prior approval.

Firing Process & Liability:

Kilns are operated exclusively by trained technicians.

The studio is not responsible for breakage or defects during firing.

The studio may reject pieces that are unsafe for firing.

Health & Safety

Safety Guidelines: Members must follow all safety protocols.

Smoking Policy: Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapes, is not allowed inside the studio.

Medical Considerations: If you have any health conditions or are pregnant, please inform staff for necessary precautions.

Orientation: Before first access, all members must complete a 15-minute orientation. Some equipment requires a separate induction before use.
Liability

Members are responsible for any damage caused to studio property.

The studio is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
Price and Policy Changes

Membership fees may change with six weeks’ notice.

The studio reserves the right to:

Limit access for maintenance or cleaning.

Restrict use of areas during classes.
-
Update policies, with prior notice given to members.

Social Media
-
We occasionally share photos of the studio on social media, where members' work may appear in the background. If we plan to photograph a member’s work specifically, we will always request permission and provide proper credit to the artist.
